Key Duplication

A key duplication shop is a retail business that focuses on creating duplicates of various types of keys. It typically operates in a retail or service center environment, where customers can walk in with an existing key and leave with one or more copies in just a few minutes. Some key duplication shops also offer additional locksmith services, including key cutting, rekeying, and lock repairs.

Services Offered

Key duplication shops offer a variety of key-related services, including:

Key Duplication Process

Key Selection: The customer brings in the key they need to be duplicated. The shop may also offer a key inspection service to ensure the original key is in good condition for duplication.
Key Cutting: Using specialized key-cutting machines, the shop will create a duplicate key that matches the original’s shape and cuts.
Testing: The new key is tested to ensure it fits and operates properly in the lock.
Additional Services (Optional): If requested, the shop may offer key engraving or customization services to personalize the new key, such as adding a name, number, or label.
Payment and Pickup: Once the duplication is complete, the customer pays for the service and picks up the new key(s).

Types of Keys Handled

Common keys used for residential doors and locks.

Car Keys
